The Compressible Media Filter offers major benefits for CSO / SSO / Wet Weather treatment facilities.  First, as a filter, it can remove smaller solid particles (down to 5 micron) than simple settling processes can achieve. Second, at hydraulic loading rates of over 40 gpm/sf, it can handle the typical high flows with a very small footprint. Removal of the finer solids improves the overall effluent quality and enhances the disinfection process employed – whether chemical or radiation.
